ERG is a reporting tool that generate reports relating to the mailbox names in the database. This is useful if you have particular users you need to extract their data for using other third party tools. Because this tool uses the X400 information, if a mailbox user, such as Jane Doe, got married and her name changed, most of the time the AD display name will not change, even if her last name and Mailbox Display name did change. A lot of times this information is required for cases that are in court or are going through Litigation/Mitigation.
