Exchange Server Database Files can be very temperamental.
Most "IT" personal do not realize that
the Database Files( Pub.edb and Priv.edb) need
constant attention to insure the stability and
reliability of the Exchange Server. Make sure
you are always looking at the Event Viewer as
any Errors that occur with the Database File will
appear there. For example, if your Database is
having "Read Verification Error" this
will be logged in the event viewer under the "Application"
section. If there are "Checksum" Errors
or "Un initialized Page" Errors this
will be in the Event Viewer. Remember, if not
already, you should have a Exchange Server Disaster
Recovery Site established so that if and when
a Exchange Disaster happens, you can get your
Exchange Server back up and running while working
on the Corrupt Database File.
